Design Master Spray – Metallic Spray 24KT Pure Gold, TACK 2000 Spray Adhesive –Styrofoam brand foam medium sized cone, 10 red silk roses, 3 red silk spray roses, paper towel, red satin ribbon, low temp glue/glue gun, wire clippers, latex gloves, wired wood pick

TECHNIQUE

  1. Remove rose leaves from stems. On a protected surface lay leaf down. Spray 24KT Pure Gold into a wadded tip of paper towel and brush on the gold. Let dry. Gild all the leaves in this manner.
  2. On a protected surface, lay gilded leaves face down then spray backsides with spray adhesive.
  3. Starting at the tip of the cone adhere leaves, overlapping sides then overlapping tips as new rows are required. Cover all but the flat bottom of cone.
  4. Cut rose stems to length and arrange in a mounded fashion as shown. Insert clusters of spray roses in openings between larger roses. Glue stems in place.
  5. Cut lengths of ribbon and attach grouped ends to wood pick. Insert into cone through tip.
Project Tip: Any metallic color can be substituted in gilding process
