TOOLS AND MATERIALS

Design Master Spray – Modern Metals Black Chrome – 1 pkg adhesive backed rhinestones, 1 ceramic lamp base (a flea market find shown), 1 lampshade (one shown from Target), painter’s tape, newspaper

TECHNIQUE

1. Protect area from overspray with newspaper.
2. Ensure lamp base is clean. Mask the electrical cord and fixture with tape.
3. Approximately 12" from the surface, spray the lamp base with Black Chrome in parallel, back and forth strokes. Apply 1 light coat which will appear translucent. Let dry. Apply a second coat. When dry, remove the masking tape.
4. Adhere rhinestones to decorate the lamp and lampshade.

Project Tip: For ease, set the lamp on an inexpensive turntable and rotate while spraying.
