TOOLS AND SUPPLIES

Design Master Spray – COLORTOOL Spray Dark Chocolate, Metallic Spray 14 KT Gold Spray, Mess Master – (3) 5" x 8" MDF hinged wood tags with holes, (3) 4" x 6" photos, (3) Making Memories® Brads any color, Elmer's®, 1/4" Thick Foam Board black on black, X-Acto® Gripster® Knife and Cutting Mat, Craft Bond™ Extra Strength Glue Stick, Craft Bond™Tacky Glue, spray bottle with water, paper towels, cotton swab, metal ruler, old newspapers

TECHNIQUE

  • Cover work surface with newspapers in a well-ventilated area. Lay tags flat onto newspapers. Start with one tag. Spray with 14 KT Gold. Let dry. Lightly spray water onto tag, allowing water to bead up on tag. (Different amounts of water will produce different size effects.) Lightly spray Dark Chocolate over water droplets. Blot off water and excess spray with paper towel. Repeat the spray-blot process until desired look is achieved. Follow this process for the hinges as well. Repeat with other tags.
  • Spray brads with 14KT Gold and then spray Dark Chocolate. Spray small amount of Mess Master into cap of spray can. Dip cotton swab into Mess Master and lightly rub off Dark Chocolate from raised areas on brads. This will allow Gold to show through. Let dry.
  • Assemble tag frame (if not already assembled.)
  • Place foam board on cutting mat. Use ruler and craft knife to measure and cut foam to size of photos.
  • Use glue stick to attach photos to foam board. Use tacky glue to glue foam board to tags. Insert brads into holes on tags.
