TOOLS AND MATERIALS

Design Master Sprays - COLORTOOL Sprays TEAL BLUE, COPPER / PRAIRIE GRASS, ROBIN'S EGG, CHAMPAGNE SILVER - Dark Green Plastic Vase / Clear Plastic Vase - Water Misting Bottle - Paper Towel - Newspapers - Jewelry Wire - Complementing Colors of Beads - 1 yd Decorative Ribbon

TECHNIQUE

Dark Blue Vase:

1. Protect work area from overspray with newspapers.
2. If dark green vase is not available, basecoat any plastic vase with 2 coats of Hunter Green.
3. Mist water onto the vase surface.
4. Randomly spray Teal Blue over water droplets.
5. Promptly DAB off water and excess spray with paper towel. DO NOT WIPE. Let surface dry.
6. Mist water on vase surface again, then spray with Copper.
7. Promplty DAB off water and excess Copper spray. Let dry.
8. If desired, apply a protective top coat of Design Master Clear Finish for added durablity.
9. String complementing colored beads on jewelry wire. Attach strand to loosely fit around vase.

Light Blue Vase:

1. Protect work area from overspray with newspapers.
2. Basecoat clear vase with 2 coats of Prairie Grass. Let dry.
3. Mist water onto painted vase surface and randomly spray with Robin's Egg.<.li>
4. Promplty DAB off water and excess spray with paper towel. DO NOT WIPE. Let surface dry.
5. Repeat MIST/SPRAY/DAB steps using Champagne Silver. Let dry.
6. If desired, apply a protective top coat of Design Master Clear Finish for added durablity.
7. Embellish with a simple bow tie around vase neck.

PROJECT TIPS: This project uses the Water Resist technique to create unique patterns of veiled colors on the vase surface. Note, different amounts of water misted on surface will produce different sized effects. Also if the finish is too uniform, repeat the mist/spray/dab process in spots on the surface with selected color.
